Weight Loss Diet for Women vs. Weight Loss Diet for Men

By Peter W.L. Owen

The chances are good that someone has told you before that a woman should be on a different diet plan. Your wife or husband might wake up one morning and challenge you on a diet contest to see who loses weight the quickest. The results of these contests are usually the same for everyone. The man loses more weight in a shorter time span. How is it possible if they both follow the same weight loss plan? Surely there is a simple reason for all of this. Are men just that lucky? Take a look at some of the reasons why men always win.

Men Love Protein and Women Love Carbs

You probably know that women are more obsessed with having a packet of chips when they're in desperate need of a snack. Men tend to wait for dinner, because they've been waiting for that roast beef all day long. Meat is full of proteins and things such as chips are full of carbohydrates. Carbohydrates have the tendency to change into fat if you don't have a good workout in the gym. Protein does not have that effect of your body.

Men Have Bigger Biceps

We all know that men have a few more muscles tucked away here and there. They also are proud owners of testosterone which helps them in building bigger muscles. Not only does it help with muscle building, but it also helps to burn fat a bit faster. It is also possible for women to increase their metabolism by giving weight lifting a try.

Why do women think that aerobics and spinning are the only exercises they should do? Men are not the only ones who have access to the weight training section. Most women don't know that having a good set of weight training exercises in their workout will increase the fat burning process.

It's Time for the Husband to Help Out in the Kitchen

Men are not the ones in the kitchen preparing food for their families. He's the guy coming from home after a hectic day at the office. The wife, on the other hand, has to start cooking for him and the kids. By preparing a great meal for the family she obviously has to taste the food just to make sure everything is fine.

She finds herself tasting the food more often then is needed to. The man on the other hand only eats after the food has been served. The woman probably doesn't realize how much it all adds up to.

Should Women Have a Different Diet?

I think that it's unnecessary for women to have a different weight loss plan. It's not really practical if the wife has to prepare two dishes. It takes far too much times and not only that, the diet becomes too expensive to follow through. They should take the time to consider different diets that are easy maintainable in their schedule.

When both of you have set your minds on a specific diet, the next step would be to find an ideal fitness plan that will boost the fat burning process. You have to stick to one another and keep your goals in mind all the time. At first you might think that a specific program for women or men is the right choice, but it isn't. Your program should focus on eating the right foods at the right times and spend enough time in the gym. - 26706
